Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis extends his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and the people of Sweden after the attack in Stockholm on Friday afternoon, when a lorry crashed into a crowd of people.

“The State, which for many is a symbol of aspiration and stands for a model, has found itself at a painful distress today. The attack in the capital of Sweden is an unjustifiable and reprehensible act, which will not help its perpetrators achieve their objectives. We are ready to help our allies in the joint fight against the terrorism hot spots. This attack has proved once again that it is vital that special services actively cooperate and share information efficiently. Furthermore, it is obvious that proper prevention and monitoring is needed”, said the Head of Government as he offered his condolences.

The Prime Minister wishes strength and unity for the victims’ families and the people of Sweden, and wishes quick recovery to those injured.
