Prime Minister’s greetings to new European Commission

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has extended sincere greetings to Virginijus Sinkevičius and the entire European Commission, which was appointed yesterday by the European Council to take office as of 1 December.

‘I thank Virginijus Sinkevičius for his energy and significant contribution to the Programme of the Government, wishing him and the European Commission every success in meeting the new pressing challenges facing Europe. The Government of Lithuania is ready to continue as a reliable partner in strengthening European unity and its single market and in delivering the priorities set by the President of the European Commission in the fields of climate, digitization and rule-based international cooperation. I have no doubt that Virginijus Sinkevičius’ voice will be heard and his initiatives will add to the prosperity of the EU, thus taking further the well-being of the people’, reads the Prime Minister’s letter
