Chancellor of the Government Algirdas Stončaitis met with Anna Szmidt-Rodziewicz, Secretary of State at the Prime Minister’s Office, to discuss prospects for the bilateral cooperation.

‘A number of pending cross-border issues have been addressed by the current Government at the initiative of the Prime Minister. We must continue to create positive climate for our bilateral relations. It is only in the spirit of trust that we can achieve more and strengthen our cooperation’, said the Chancellor, recalling also that the Lithuanian and Polish Governments agreed on 17 September to hold a joint meeting early in 2020. Polish leaders are expected to come for the reburial of the commanders of the 1863-1864 uprising to be held at the end of November in Vilnius.

The Chancellor also noted Government’s support to the new TVP Wilno TV channel. He said it was particularly important that this channel would be used for informing about the latest developments in the Lithuanian-Polish cooperation.
