Lithuania-Oman Business Forum: investment opportunities

As part of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius and the business delegation took part in Oman-Lithuania Business forum focussing on the promotion of mutual investment, economic cooperation and search for new markets.

“The business forum has brought together the two stakeholders: Lithuanian and Omani businesses to look for ways to pursue the common goal of closer economic cooperation between our countries”, said the Prime Minister.

The Head of Government noted Lithuania’s reliability and its capacity for providing favourable conditions for a foreign capital through a number of enacted and potential measures as regards better environment for business operations in the country.

“Our economy is among the fastest growing in the European Union, and the new national currency, the euro, provides for business transparency and better protection against external threats”, said the Prime Minister.

“Lithuania, as a transit corridor between East and West, can ensure quality transit of Oman goods to the West. Our country has a good reputation as regards IT infrastructure, and Lithuania-made products have been steadily gaining ground not only in the European Union markets, but also in the United States and Central Asia”, said the Prime Minister.

It was also said that the membership of the Economic Cooperation and Development remains among Lithuania’s top priorities, supported across the entire political spectrum and the society at large.
