In consideration of the requests for assistance of the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Spain dated 30 March 2020, and to contribute to the elimination of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided to allocate EUR 100 000 from the reserve of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for the humanitarian aid to Italy and Spain.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania has been instructed to organise the purchase of protection measures for the COVID-19 pandemic and the transport of the aid consignment to the locations specified by the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Spain, and to hand it over to the responsible persons.

Expressing solidarity with the Albanian people and to assist the country in coping with the effects of the earthquake, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated EUR 50 000 from the Government reserve for humanitarian aid to Albania in 2019. This year, the Government provided EUR 100 000 for the People’s Republic of China in its fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, and EUR 65 000 in international civil safety assistance to Croatia.
