Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has sent his greetings to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who has been re-appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine on Thursday.

“Let me sincerely congratulate you on your appointment by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the new term of office as Prime Minister of Ukraine. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, I wish you every success, and I am ready to cooperate with your Cabinet for the welfare of the people of Lithuania and Ukraine”, reads Prime Minister’s congratulatory letter.

According to the Lithuanian Prime Minister, the victory of democratic forces in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the appointment of the new Government at this period of tension, both for Ukraine and the entire Europe, has attested once again the European choice by the people of Ukraine.

“I wish your Government determination and perseverance while pursuing complex structural reforms of national economy and aiming for the prosperity and welfare for the country and its citizens. Let me assure you that the Government of the Republic of Lithuania will support your Cabinet’s efforts to seek lasting prosperity for the democratic Ukraine”, said Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius.
