Prime Minister extends greetings to Latvian Prime Minister on the start of Latvia's Presidency of the EU Council

Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has extended his greetings to Latvian Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma on the start of Latvia's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

“Please accept my cordial congratulations on the start of Latvia's Presidency of the Council of the European Union. I am sure that the overarching Latvian Presidency priorities: Competitive Europe, Digital Europe and Engaged Europe will bring tangible results as well as strengthen the Union”, reads Prime Minister’s letter.

“I can assure you that the Government of Lithuania will continue to be your trustworthy partner and to work closely with you and your Government to achieve common goals for the benefit of our nations and the entire European Community”, says the Prime Minister of Lithuania.

The Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will continue until 30 June this year.
