Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis extends sincere greetings to Poland on its Independence Day. According to the Prime Minister, it is a special day for Lithuania as well, for we are sister nations and historical allies. We have always been and will remain on the side of Poland’s freedom, and we will jointly seek prosperity of our peoples and create welfare in the united Europe.

‘I wish all the people of Poland fortitude and strong health. Today is the day of pride in the State and nation of Poland, which reminds us that even the greatest difficulties can be overcome. I have no doubt that we will jointly tackle the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic as well. I am pleased with the active cooperation between the Lithuanian and Polish governments on all topics and at all levels. I am convinced that the agenda of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Poland will be further developed actively, and that cooperation in international organizations, especially in the European Union and NATO, will help ensure broad support for our joint proposals and political choices,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

The Head of Government has expressed confidence that the joint commemoration of the 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 May and the Mutual Pledge of the Two Nations, to be held next year, will bring the two nations even closer.
