Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis extends greetings to the people of Poland on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of independence.

'We welcome the cooperation between our Governments in the fields of policy, economy and culture which has intensified since the last year and are ready to develop it further. The endeavours to create strong and united European Union focused on stronger transatlantic relationship remain a common objective of Lithuania and Poland. Today, when we are marking the 30th anniversaries of Polish democratic revolution, the Baltic Way and the fall of the Berlin Wall we can be proud of what has been achieved in implementing the ideals of freedom which led to sacrifices of patriots of our nations. I am convinced that common achievements of the past and future challenges will encourage us to continue close dialogue on all the matters of joint interest and successfully develop initiative,' reads the Prime Minister’s letter of congratulations.

The Head of Government wishes to the future Government and the people of Poland success, mutual understanding and prosperity.
