Prime Minister extends his greetings on Latvia’s Independence Day celebration

Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has extended his greetings to Prime Minister of Latvia Laimdota Straujuma and the people of Latvia on the occasion of Latvia’s Independence Day.
“Please accept sincere greetings from the Government and the people of the Republic of Lithuania on the occasion of the National Day of Latvia, the Independence Day. I sincerely wish the Government and the people of Latvia every success and wellbeing”, reads Prime Minister Butkevičius’s letter.
The Prime Minister says that Latvia and Lithuania share common history, and that the two countries are not only neighbours but also close partners. “Relations between our two countries and our people are based on common historical experience, shared values, and mutual understanding”, notes Prime Minister Butkevičius.
