Prime Minister extends his greetings to the new Polish Head of Government

Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has extended his greetings to Beata Szydło, who has formed the new Government and has become the Prime Minister of Poland.    

“On behalf of the Lithuanian Government, I extend my sincere greetings upon the start of your extremely important duties. On this occasion, let me assure you that Poland is a close friend and a strategic partner of Lithuania. Relations between our countries are based on our mutual historic experience, shared values, and reciprocal understanding, while our partnership in the European Union and NATO is the foundation for ensuring safe neighbourhood and sustainable regional development”, reads Prime Minister Butkevičius’s letter.             

The Prime Minister notes that the Lithuanian Government rests always ready to cooperate in matters of mutual importance. “I am convinced that the friendly and active dialogue will help develop partnership between our states as well as aim at our shared objectives”, says Prime Minister Butkevičius, and wishes Prime Minister Szydło and her Government successful work.
