Prime Minister Had Telephone Conversation with Heads of Government of Latvia and Estonia
On Monday, Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Latvia, Evika Siliņa, and Prime Minister of Estonia, Kristen Michal.
In his conversation with Heads of Government of Latvia and Estonia, Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas discussed the issues of regional security, further support of the Baltic States to Ukraine, joint infrastructure projects, as well as other topical issues of cooperation between the countries.
"The Baltic States have much more in common than neighbourhood - we are close partners, allies and like-minded nations. We can achieve much more on issues of strategic importance if we work together, as we have demonstrated time and again. Strengthening of defence, protection of critical infrastructure, Rail Baltica and Via Baltica projects and, of course, support to Ukraine until its victory - these are areas that require our constant attention and close partnership," said Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas.
The conversation highlighted the need to maintain close ties not only in bilateral relations, but also to remain like-minded in the European Union, NATO and other international organisations, and to further strengthen cooperation in regional formats such as the Nordic-Baltic cooperation (NB8) and the Baltic Council of Ministers, to be chaired by Latvia in 2025.
Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas and Prime Ministers of the Baltic States discussed possible dates for bilateral visits.
