Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has extended sincere congratulations to Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga on his appointment and the formation of the new Government.

Saulius Skvernelis has expressed his delight about the fact that Japan and Lithuania are linked by common democratic values and free market principles, and that economic, business, scientific, and cultural ties are being successfully developed, and that humanist heritage of Chiune Sugihara unites the two states and nations.

‘I can assure you that the Government of Lithuania will continue to be your trustworthy partner and will work closely with you and your Government towards the common goals for the benefit of our nations and further consolidation of the European Union and the transatlantic community for global peace, stability, and security. I trust that your rich political experience will help further develop ties between our countries, and will lay foundations for raising our bilateral relations to an even higher level,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

Prime Minister Skvernelis has wished the Prime Minister of Japan and his Government every success in future endeavours.
