Prime Minister has extended congratulations to the new Head of Government of Ireland

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has extended congratulations on the appointment of new Taoiseach of Ireland Micheál Martin.

According to Saulius Skvernelis, Lithuania and Ireland are united by a time-tested partnership and close ties in multiple spheres and on multiple levels. The Prime Minister has expressed his trust that this will continue to be the case for many years to come.

Skvernelis has also congratulated Ireland on its election to the United Nations Security Council.

‘Lithuania shares many of the priorities that Ireland has singled out as it sought election to this important international body, and we will support you wholeheartedly as you seek their implementation. I am certain that this will strengthen our relations and cooperation in international forums even more,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

Saulius Skvernelis has wished the Head of Government of Ireland every success in his very important and responsible duties and has invited him to visit Lithuania.
