Prime Minister has extended his condolences to Ukraine after a mine blast

Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has extended his condolences to Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk after a blast at the Zasyadko coal mine in eastern Ukraine has killed dozens of coal miners.

“Let me convey my heartfelt condolences. I wish strength to the families of miners killed to endure in this difficult time”, reads Prime Minister Butkevičius’s letter of condolences.

The Head of Government has expressed his hope that the miners surviving the blast yet still trapped in the shaft will soon be rescued and will safely reach their homes.
