Prime Minister Paluckas extends greetings to new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz
Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas has extended his greetings to Friedrich Merz, who was sworn in on Tuesday as the new Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. In his message, the Prime Minister wished Chancellor Merz and his new government strength and success in their important mission ahead.
"For years, the cooperation between Lithuania and Germany has continued to grow stronger across various fields, and I am confident that under your leadership, we will build on this foundation and take our partnership even further. We are especially grateful for Germany‘s firm commitment to the security of Lithuania and the eastern flank of NATO. The stationing of a German brigade in Lithuania sends a powerful message of solidarity and trust. It stands as a clear example of our close cooperation—important not only for Lithuania but also for Germany and the Alliance as a whole.
In these times of uncertainty and challenge, unity among like-minded partners matters more than ever. Only together can we safeguard freedom and democracy. Only together can we support Ukraine in overcoming aggression and restoring peace and justice in Europe", reads Prime Minister Paluckas‘s message of greetings.
