Prime Minister sends Great Union Day greetings to Romania
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Acting Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending warm greetings to the people of Romania on the Great Union Day.
‘Lithuania and Romania continue to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation both bilaterality and as members of the European Union and NATO. I deeply value your support for our common aspirations and democratic values,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings to the Prime Minister of Romania Marcel Ciolacu.
‘Undoubtedly, cooperation between our countries is key to strengthening Europe as a whole and standing up to authoritarian regimes. ln these geopolitically turbulent times, we must remain united, strong and prepared to deter and defend against threats and aggression. l sincerely hope that Lithuania and Romania will continue their joint efforts as close allies and friends, supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia's aggression and ensuring security of our countries and our Alliance. It is our shared responsibility to defend democratic values and uphold the rule of law both at home and abroad,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings,’ said Prime Minister I. Šimonytė.
