Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has extended greetings to Jarosław Kaczyński on his 70th anniversary.

“We highly appreciate your personal contribution to strengthening the brotherly cooperation between Lithuania and Poland. I welcome the growing momentum in exchanges between the top government officials of both countries, the development of parliamentary cooperation and joint initiatives in foreign and security policy. ‘We have always supported Poland and will continue to do so as regards hosting of US troops for permanent deployment. This will contribute to the security of the entire region, including Lithuania. Gas interconnectors, the upcoming synchronisation of our country’s electricity grid with European networks through Poland and the Rail Baltica as strategic projects will ensure even closer ties between our two nations. I hope we can continue to count on your very important support for these projects”, reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

In his letter, Saulius Skvernelis has also expressed respect for the late President Lech Kaczyński. The Prime Minister has said he is proud to have had an opportunity to unveil, this April, a commemorative monument in tribute to President Lech Kaczynski at the Orlen Lietuva Company in Mažeikiai, together with Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

The Head of Government has expressed his wishes to Jarosław Kaczyński for good health, energy and the public support for his ideas and deeds.

“You have to know that you are always welcome in Vilnius, Lithuania, as a very precious guest”, says the Prime Minister.
