Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has extended greetings to Benjamin Netanyahu on his 70th birthday, wishing him strong health, energy, success and the best of luck in his future endeavours.

The Prime Minister states in his letter that it is with great pleasure that he remembers their warm and fruitful meetings over the recent years in Lithuania and Israel and is very happy with the jointly initiated format of the Baltic-Israeli Prime Ministers’ Meeting.

‘The wide-ranging cooperation between our countries, which covers issues from defence and security to energy, and from economics to cultural cooperation, shows the close ties between Lithuania and Israel. We value Israel as a very important partner in the region and its people - as Lithuania’s true friends. Lithuanian Jews have been an integral part of our society. It is a nation that has greatly contributed to the development of the Lithuanian statehood, history, culture and science.’

The Prime Minister concludes his letter by expressing his certainty that the links between the people and the states will continue to grow, so will the mutual understanding, along with other forms of cooperation.
