Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has extended his greetings to the Latvian nation and Prime Minister Laimduota Straujuma on the occasion of the Independence Day.

According to Investors’ Forum research data, as much as 95 percent of investors favourably view political stability in Lithuania. Businesses are building trust in authorities and are not hoping for radical reforms. These factors and the approaching euro adoption are attracting foreign investors. The Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius says he is pleased with research results that show investors’ positive attitude towards Government efforts to improve business environment.

Prime Minister Algirdas Bukevičius congratulated the Prime Minister of Poland Ewa Kopacz on the Independence Day. “I sincerely wish the Government of Poland and its people every success, prosperity and wellbeing in the future. I believe that by trusting in each other’s support and understanding, and by taking joint effort we will be able to accomplish the vision of a safe, prosperous and future-oriented community,” reads the congratulation letter of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania.

Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius expressed greetings to Laimdota Straujuma for her reappointment as Latvian Prime Minister.

Lithuania has all suitable conditions for the construction of Syderiai underground gas storage facility, as confirmed by the results of five-year studies presented today at Government’s meeting.

Following the Belarus-Lithuanian business forum in Mogilev, Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius met with his Belarussian counterpart, Mikhail Myasnikovich, to discuss bilateral economic relations.

On Tuesday, November 4, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius will attend the tenth Lithuanian-Belarusian economic forum in Mogilev, intended to discuss the most pressing issues of mutual economic cooperation. The forum will focus on transport and logistics, as well as trade and investment.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius received the President of the American-Lithuanian Business Council, Eric Stewart, Vice President Luke Myers and other members of the Council. The Prime Minister had previously met with the guests in the United States of America. The meeting in the USA was held to discuss bilateral economic relations as well as the strategic partnership between the USA and Lithuania. This time the discussions focused on opportunities for US investors in Lithuania.

Monday evening, in Stockholm, Sweden, in the meeting of Nordic and Baltic Prime Ministers (NB8), Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius together with Government leaders of the region discussed topical political and economic issues in Europe, transatlantic partnership, trade, security and other foreign policy issues.
