19th Cabinet steps down
Following Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas’s decision to resign, the 19th Cabinet has also submitted its resignation in accordance with Article 9 of the Law on the Government.
The resignation was officially announced during a Cabinet meeting held on Monday.
“The 19th Government focused on delivering real results from day one — that was our promise and expectation of the Lithuanian people. We have accomplished a great deal, and I am deeply grateful to my team, our social partners, and everyone with whom we worked productively,” said Prime Minister Paluckas.
Under Article 9(1)(3) of the Law on the Government, the resignation of the Prime Minister requires the resignation of the entire Cabinet.
The Cabinet resignation is subject to acceptance by the President of the Republic and takes effect on the day the presidential decree enters into force.
