The main task of the Office of the Government is to assist the Prime Minister and the Government in smooth delivery of their functions; to be a reliable help to the Prime Minister in the efforts leading to publicly beneficial and state-consolidating changes and open governance. The Office of the Government is headed by the Chancellor of the Government.
Written and oral requests and complaints can be placed as follows:

Documents received at the Office of the Government are registered on the same working day they have been received. If the documents are received on a non-working day, they are registered on the following working day.
You will have an answer within 20 calendar days from the receipt of your request. In the case where large amount or complex information is requested, the Office of the Government has the right to extend this period by a further 20 days notifying the requesting person of the reasons for the extension on the following working day at the latest.
Your complaint about the response can be sent to the Office of the Government (Gedimino Avenue 11, 01103 Vilnius) in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Public Administration, or, within one month from the day of its receipt, to Lithuania’s Administrative Disputes Commission (Vilniaus Street 27, 01402 Vilnius), or to the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court (Žygimantų Street 2, 01102 Vilnius), or in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Pre-trial Settlement of Administrative Disputes.
The Office of the Government provides the following services:
- Issuing of a salary certificate for the purpose of pension
- Issuing of a certificate of employment
- Provision of information on the documents of the Office of the Government
- Media accreditation

Government sittings and meetings are brought live on Government website (www.lrv.lt) and on the Government Facebook account. Audio recordings of Government sittings and meetings are made publicly available on the website (www.lrv.lt)
The agenda and the accompanying material for the Government sitting are available on the Government website (Sittings and meetings column). Material containing information that constitutes a state or official secret, a commercial secret, or personal data, the disclosure of which would not comply with the requirements of the legislation regulating the protection of personal data, is not subject to publication.

You will have to submit a written request to access documents of the Office of the Government at the premises of the Office of the Government or get copies or extracts or transcripts of files or documents from the archives of the Office of the Government. To see or get documents containing personal data (if they can be provided), you will need to complete and sign an additional request.

Yes, the Open Government Unit is in charge of the tours of the Office of the Government.
Tours take place on Thursdays and Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A group should consist of maximum 25 adults or 35 schoolchildren.
For tours, please write a request by post or email to the Office of the Government at: [email protected] at least seven working days ahead of a planned tour. You will have to give us the following information: the organiser (leader) of the tour group, the desired date and time of the tour, and a list with the names of the participants.
