Prime Minister Congratulates Iceland on Its National Day
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė sincerely congratulated Iceland on the occasion of its National Day and wished the country continued prosperity and well-being.
„The bond between Lithuania and Iceland is truly special. We will never forget that Iceland was the first country to recognise the restoration of Lithuania’s independence. This historic act of solidarity remains a lasting symbol of friendship between our nations. Today, this friendship is further strengthened by the vibrant Lithuanian community in Iceland, which serves as a living bridge between our peoples.
As close partners within the Nordic-Baltic Eight, we work together to address common challenges and uphold our shared values. At a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty, the unity of the Nordic and Baltic countries remains essential. Lithuania highly values Iceland’s support for Ukraine and our close cooperation in strengthening regional security and resilience,“ the Prime Minister said in her congratulatory message.
