Prime Minister congratulates the United States on the 250th anniversary of its Independence Day
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Acting Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė sent heartfelt congratulations to the Vice President of the United States of America and the American people on the occasion of Independence Day.
„Lithuania highly values the strategic partnership and close ties between our countries. Built on our shared commitment to freedom, democracy, the rule of law, and human dignity, our partnership reflects the strength of transatlantic cooperation, as well as our common resolve to address the challenges we face today.
As NATO Allies, Lithuania and the United States continue to work closely to strengthen security in the Euro-Atlantic region. Our defence cooperation remains a cornerstone of our strategic partnership and contributes significantly to NATO's collective defence. The presence of U.S. forces in Lithuania remains vital to the security of our region and stands as a clear demonstration of Allied solidarity and effective deterrence. Lithuania remains fully committed to further strengthening our defence cooperation as a reliable Ally and Host Nation,“ said Prime Minister in her message of greetings to Vice President of the USA.
The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is a significant milestone and an opportunity to reflect on the enduring relevance of the ideals of liberty, democracy, and the rule of law. These principles continue to unite the transatlantic community and guide our common efforts to promote peace, security, and a rules-based international order.
In today's increasingly complex security environment, I am confident that the close partnership between Lithuania and the United States will continue to grow, strengthening the transatlantic bond and contributing to a safer and more secure future,“ reads Prime Minister's letter.
