Prime Minister expresses condolences on the death of Pope Francis

Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas expresses his condolences on the death of Pope Francis (Jorge Mario Bergoglio). This is a great loss for the Catholic Church and for the entire Catholic community in Lithuania and the world, says the Head of Government in his message of condolence.

'The passing of Pope Francis is deeply saddening to Catholics in Lithuania and all around the world. His compassion to the vulnerable and the suffering will be remembered, and his legacy will endure. Pope Francis' pontificate will be remembered for his service and care for the weakest and most vulnerable, for his sincere efforts to foster a welcoming and accepting Church, a home for all and for everyone.

Pope's Francis visit to Lithuania in 2018 will always remain an especially warm and inspiring memory for us. It was not only a historic moment, but also a profound spiritual experience that strengthened faith, unity and hope.

We mourn with Catholics around the world and with all those who held dear the Holy Father's mission', said Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas.
