Acting Prime Minister’s Independence Day greetings to the Republic of Moldova
On behalf of the people and the lnterim Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Acting Prime Minister Rimantas Šadžius extended his sincere greetings to the Republic of Moldova, celebrating its Independence Day.
„This year carries special meaning as we mark the 35th anniversary of Moldova's recognition of Lithuania's restored independence – a gesture we deeply value and remember with gratitude. Our nations are united by a shared history and a common vision for the future,“ said the acting Prime Minister.
Rimantas Šadžius expressed firm belief that Moldova will continue advancing along its European path and, together with Ukraine, will soon open the first chapters of accession negotiations. Lithuania has consistently reaffirmed its commitment to support Moldova on this journey in every possible way, because Moldova's rightful place is in the European Union family, he added.
"ln the face of Russia's ongoing aggression, Lithuania also remains committed to strengthening our joint resilience, while standing together in support of Ukraine and in defence of our shared European values.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration, along with my best wishes for the continued well-being and prosperity of your country and its people,” said Rimantas Šadžius.
