Green light to initiative to proceed with Open Data and Digital Transformation Centre of Excellence

To advance data opening and digital transformation across different fields of public administration, the Government has endorsed today the initiative of establishing an Open Data and Digital Transformation Centre of Excellence, which will be responsible for assisting institutions in their activities regarding planning of data opening and digital transformation and project implementation, coordination of inter-institutional activities, initiating of shared solutions and ensuring quality of implementation, dissemination of knowledge needed to open data and implement digital transformation, and monitoring of the implementation of initiatives.


The initiative of the Centre of Excellence would be implemented in two stages by the Office of the Government. The first stage will involve setting up of a group of experts with competencies needed for the development of data architecture, information technology infrastructure of registers and state information systems architecture, and cyber security architecture. While the second stage will see the functions of the Centre of Excellence delegated to an institution authorised by the Government.
