Lithuania presents first finished rebuilding infrastructure project in Ukraine

On 19 April, Lithuania’s Ambassador to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas and the delegation of national institutions involved in reconstruction projects in Ukraine visited the country to present the first finished reconstruction project of a mobile settlement in Borodyanka to the media and authorities.

The houses have already been handed over to Ukrainians. 36 families who lost their homes because of the Russian invasion will soon settle there.

The mobile houses were painted by the Ukrainian artist Andrij Palwal. He was invited to depict prosperous future city to symbolize faith in Ukraine’s victory and happiness.

This settlement is not the only Lithuanian project in Ukraine. New school in Borodianka will host around 700 children. The first premises are planned to be opened in September. A kindergarten in Irpin is another ongoing project planned to be finished by September. There is also a project that aims to modernize the electricity system in Mykolaiv.

Lithuania advocates starting the reconstruction now, following the needs of average people, who need homes, schools, and critical infrastructure working.
