Prime Minister Congratulates Iceland on Independence Day
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas warmly congratulated Iceland on the occasion of Independence Day and wished the country prosperity.
“The friendship between Lithuania and Iceland is built on shared values of freedom, democracy, and a deep commitment to peace and security in our region and beyond. We will always remain grateful for Iceland’s unwavering support for Lithuania’s independence – a gesture that continues to inspire and strengthen the bond between our nations.
We also deeply value Iceland’s contribution to NATO’s presence in the Baltic region, which reflects your country’s steadfast dedication to our shared security. In these times of geopolitical turmoil, Iceland’s continued support for Ukraine and our joint efforts to strengthen resilience across the European continent are a powerful expression of unity and solidarity,“ says the Prime Minister's greeting.
