Prime Minister congratulates the new Chancellor of Austria
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has extended sincere congratulations and best wishes for success to Alexander Schallenberg on his appointment as the new Chancellor of the Republic of Austria.
The Prime Minister has assured Chancellor Schallenberg that the Government of Lithuania is ready to continue the joint work in strengthening the existing partnership between Lithuania and Austria, as well as defending the founding values of the European Union.
‘In the context of complex challenges that the European Union faces today, close cooperation between the Member States acquires special relevance. I am certain that our mutual support and understanding as well as joint efforts will lead towards a safe, prosperous, and future-oriented Europe and our Neighbourhood,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.
