Prime Minister Congratulates the New Head of Government of the Netherlands

On behalf of the Government of Lithuania, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė congratulated His Excellency Mr Rob Jetten on his appointment as the new Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Netherlands and wished him every success.

'Lithuania highly values the close and trusted partnership between our countries, based on shared democratic values, strong transatlantic ties, and a common commitment to the rules-based international order. I look forward to working closely with you and your Government to further strengthen our bilateral cooperation in the fields of security and defence, economy and innovation, as well as culture, science, and education.

At a time when Europe and the transatlantic community face unprecedented security challenges, close cooperation among Allies and European Union partners is more important than ever. Lithuania deeply appreciates the Netherlands’ steadfast contribution to the NATO multinational battle group in Lithuania, which remains a vital element of our collective defence and Allied solidarity. Following the recent NATO Summit hosted by the Netherlands, I am confident that our continued close cooperation will contribute to strengthening NATO’s deterrence and defence posture and to ensuring lasting security across the Alliance.

Lithuania looks forward to further cooperation with the Netherlands in enhancing Europe’s competitiveness, including through innovation, the green transition, and energy resilience. We also value our cooperation within regional and multilateral formats, including the Baltic–Benelux framework, the European Union, NATO, and the United Nations. We remain firmly committed to working together in support of Ukraine and to defending freedom, sovereignty, and international law.' says the Prime Minister in her greetings.
