Prime Minister Congratulates the New Head of Government of the Republic of North Macedonia
On behalf of the Government and people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė congratulated Hristijan Mickoski on his appointment as the new Head of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and wished the new Government success.
“I highly value the friendly relations and cooperation between Lithuania and North Macedonia and have every confidence that these ties will continue to flourish for the mutual benefit of our countries, their people, and Europe as a whole, as we strive to build a peaceful and secure future for the European continent.
I avail myself of this opportunity to reaffirm the Lithuanian Government’s support for the merits-based EU enlargement policy in the Western Balkans. It is our shared interest to see our democratic and value-aligned partners within the European Union.
In the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine, our unwavering unity in supporting Ukraine until its victory and beyond, and in strengthening the sanctions against Russia and Belarus, remains paramount as we pursue sustainable peace and a strong Europe impervious to aggressors’ blackmail. I appreciate your country’s support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, and I highly value Your country’s alignment with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy,“ says the Prime Minister in her greetings.
