Prime Minister Extends Greetings to New Zealand on Its National Day

On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has sent a message of sincere greetings to New Zealand celebrating its National Day, along with her wishes for welfare, and prosperity to its people.

“I greatly appreciate the friendly relations between Lithuania and New Zealand. I am certain that, as like-minded countries, we will continue working together to strengthen our bilateral ties and rules-based international order.

We are currently witnessing interconnected security challenges across the globe that have a negative impact on all democratic countries. Continued Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is of particular concern, as it will greatly impact the future world order. Thus, it is important for like-minded countries to enhance their cooperation in supporting Ukraine’s quest for victory, including through increased military assistance. New Zealand’s support for Ukraine is highly appreciated in Ukraine and in all European countries.

Lithuania places a high priority on strengthening ties with New Zealand and countries in the Indo-Pacific region. It is a great delight to note our growing political and economic cooperation as well as people-to-people links. I look forward to continue strengthening our countries’ ties in the coming years,” said the Head of the Government in her greetings.
