Prime Minister Extends Greetings to Austria on its National Day
On behalf of the government, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has conveyed a message of sincere greetings to Austria in celebration of its National Day.
“l am delighted to see growing understanding and friendship between Lithuania and Austria over these recent years. From commercial to cultural exchanges and diplomatic relations, our two countries have cooperated on various fronts. This partnership has benefited our people and strengthened our friendship.
The political landscape in Europe is changing significantly during these difficult and complicated times. Austria and Lithuania are both proud members of the European Union, which is currently facing a number of challenges, such as the ongoing Russia's war against Ukraine, threats to rules based international order, climate change, or economic recovery. Lithuania values our increased friendship as it plays a crucial role in helping the EU to stand up to Russia's aggression and to seek effective solutions to multiple challenges.
l look forward to seeing our shared commitment to enhancing the EU unity and safeguarding the EU prosperity and peace for future generations,” – states the greeting from the Head of the Government.
