Prime Minister extends greetings to Hungary on National Day
Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė extended her greetings to Hungary on the occasion of the Memorial Day of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
According to the Prime Minister, this historic event reminds us of the true meaning and price of freedom, as well as the courage of the Hungarian people who stood up against the oppression.
“The spirit of 1956 continues to inspire all nations that value independence and democracy and serves as a powerful reminder that freedom must be defended constantly,” said Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė.
The Prime Minister emphasized that today, these same ideals are being defended by Ukraine, which is bravely resisting Russia's brutaI aggression. There is no other path but to stand firmly with Ukraine, to help it defend its sovereignty and the rules-based international order.
Lithuania values its partnership with Hungary within NATO, and we appreciate Hungary's contribution to the Baltic Air Policing Mission, which strengthens the security of our entire Alliance, Prime Minister adds.
