Prime Minister Extends Greetings to Ireland on Its National Day

On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has sent a message of greetings to Ireland celebrating St Patric’s day, the National Day of Ireland.

“I avail myself of this opportunity to express my delight at the friendship and close bilateral cooperation between our nations. I am glad that Lithuanian diaspora in Ireland has proven to be a very strong link between our countries. I have no doubt that with joint efforts, we will continue the close cooperation and active dialogue between Lithuania and Ireland, based on the spirit of mutual understanding.

I am proud to say that today our two nations remain committed to the shared ideals of liberty and democracy and are working closely together to build a strong and forward-looking Europe, as well as sustainable peace on our continent and beyond. Our unity in the face of Russia’s brutal and shocking invasion of Ukraine needs to continue, with maximum efforts to help Ukraine defend its territory and our shared values,” said the Head of the Government in her greetings.
