Prime Minister extends greetings to Ireland on Saint Patrick’s Day

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė extends greetings to Ireland on its National Day, Saint Patrick’s Day. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland.

‘I am glad that the sizeable Lithuanian community thriving in Ireland and the great Irish compatriots in Lithuania promote the genuine friendship and unity between our countries. My Government is fully committed to fostering and further expanding our cultural and economic ties,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

According to Prime Minister Šimonytė, Lithuania and Ireland share a strong pro-European stance and vital interests in promoting the European unity and prosperity. Both countries should continue working together with a view to further strengthening active cooperation on all levels.

Despite the year being overshadowed by the pandemic, Prime Minister Šimonytė wishes Taoiseach Micheál Martin and all the people of Ireland joy and national pride.
