Prime Minister extends greetings to Slovenia on the Statehood Day

On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė extends sincere greetings to Slovenia on the Statehood Day.

‘30 years ago, the Slovenian Parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Slovenia. Our countries were among the first to recognise each other’s independence. This year also marks a significant occasion, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Slovenia. I highly appreciate the friendship and close cooperation between our countries in the EU, NATO, and other international organisations, as well as your country’s contribution to NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic states. I have no doubt that our counties will continue working together in strengthening our cooperation and friendship,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

On this occasion, the Head of Government has wished Slovenia success in the forthcoming Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, while aiming to build a peaceful and secure future of the European Union.

The Prime Minister has wished the people of Slovenia wellbeing and prosperity.
