Prime Minister extends greetings to the Netherlands on King’s Day
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė extends sincere greetings to the Netherlands on its national holiday, King’s Day, and wishes the people of the Netherlands every success, prosperity, and wellbeing.
‘United by common values, Lithuania and the Netherlands are committed to building a prosperous and forward-looking Europe, and a strong NATO, which is capable of protecting our societies from old and new challenges alike. Lithuania highly values the contribution of the Dutch military personnel to NATO’s enhanced forward presence battalion in Lithuania. Their presence demonstrates the firm commitment of your country and that of the Alliance to a peaceful and secure Europe. Today our countries enjoy extensive economic, cultural, scientific, and educational cooperation, while the universities in the Netherlands remain one of the top destinations for Lithuanian students who chose to study abroad. I am confident that the friendship between our nations will continue to grow, and we will continue building a united and free Europe, and the world that is safe for democracy,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.
