Prime Minister extends greetings to Ukraine on its Independence Day

On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė extends warmest greetings to the people of Ukraine on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day and wishes the country security and prosperity.

‘Our nations share similar history marked by a constant fight for liberty. Today Ukraine is not alone in this fight. As you celebrate the 30th Independence Day, many of your allies and friends, including Lithuania, celebrate with you. I have no doubt that your country’s remarkable achievements since 1991 will further serve as a strong motivation to continue reforms to build stronger European Ukraine,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter.

Prime Minister Šimonytė also underlines that today Lithuania and Ukraine are sharing responsibility for regional and global security, and are seeking to build Europe that is whole, free, and at peace. The Prime Minister says she firmly believes that by working closely together this goal will be achieved.
