Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has extended Government’s sincere greetings to the people of Poland as they celebrate their Independence Day.

‘The enduring and robust partnership between Lithuania and Poland stands as a testament to our shared commitment to upholding democratic values and reinforcing the rule-based international order, both within the European Union and globally. Our alliance thrives on a foundation of mutual respect for freedom and democracy, collaborative efforts in fortifying a progressive Europe, and a collective dedication to ensuring sustained peace across our continent and beyond.

Our unwavering support for Ukraine remains resolute. It is imperative for our nations, and for the entirety of the democratic world, to stand together and intensify our backing for Ukraine in defending not only its own independence and territorial integrity but also the fundamental security framework and values of the global democratic community.

The celebration of Poland’s Independence Day resonates as a celebration for the people of Lithuania as well, as a strong Poland inherently fortifies Lithuania’s security. I am confident that a strong Lithuania contributes to the security of Poland too’, reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
