Prime Minister has conveyed condolences over the death of Prince Philip

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has sent a letter of condolence to Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom over the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.  

‘On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and my own behalf, may I express my sincere condolences to Your Majesty, the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom for the loss of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Philip visited Lithuania in 2006, when Her Majesty paid a state visit to the Republic of Lithuania. His Royal Highness will always be remembered in Lithuania as a true gentleman, who was respected and loved by everyone. Lithuania will miss him,’ reads the Prime Minister’s letter of condolence.
