Prime Minister in Helsinki: Lithuania is creating more favourable conditions for investors - we invite you to see for yourself

Lithuania is open to closer economic and business relations with Finland, says Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas, who is on a working visit to Helsinki, noting the special focus of the Government on more favourable investment conditions and reducing bureaucratic burden.

After the meetings with the Findland’s leaders, the Prime Minister had discussions with the members of the Board of the Finnish-Lithuanian Business Association and visited VTT, the Finnish Technical Research Centre, which is one of the most advanced institutions for science and business partnership in Europe.

"Conditions for business, including for foreign investors, have been high on this Government’s agenda from day one. We are shortening procedures for major investment projects, we are reviewing administrative burden at the level of the Government and its subordinate bodies and eliminating excessive regulation, we are open to contributing capital to projects of strategic importance, especially in the field of defence industry, and seeking for mutually beneficial partnership models, which we already have experience of. As allies and close countries in every sense, Lithuania and Finland are cooperating more and more closely in various areas - business should be no exception," said the Prime Minister of Lithuania.

The representatives of defence industry, financial sector, energy, engineering, agriculture and other business sectors participated in the meeting with the representatives of companies and business associations as well as Lithuanian Honorary Consuls at the Lithuanian Embassy in Finland.

The discussions with the Prime Minister focused on the investment conditions in Lithuania, the economic policy priorities of the Government, and the areas with the greatest potential.

At the end of his working visit to Helsinki, the Head of Government visited VTT, the Finnish Technical Research Centre, developing quantum computing.

During the visit, the Prime Minister was briefed on Finland’s strategy for the development of quantum technologies, the necessary conditions and the potential of quantum computing.
