Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė sends greetings to Jewish community in Lithuania and Litvaks worldwide for Pesach
‘This year, the Pesach holds a special significance, as it is celebrated amidst turbulent times. Yet, it is precisely during such moments that the essence and importance of the Pesach resonate most deeply: the Exodus from slavery is a timeless act, recurring in the life of the entire humanity and in the personal journey of each individual. Freedom is an endeavour, a path, and also a gift. It is a pilgrimage towards the Promised Land, where faith and fidelity help sever the chains of slavery.
My warm greetings go to all Jewish people in Lithuania and worldwide on this special occasion. May the spirit of the Pesach and the fellowship of the Seder give strength and may faith and love for one another never fail.
Chag Pesach sameach – happy Pesach!'
