Prime Minister sends greetings to Greece on Independence Day
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has sent greetings to Greece on Independence Day.
"Lithuania highly values the close partnership and friendship between our countries. As allies within the European Union and NATO, we stand united in our commitment to safeguarding freedom, democracy, and peace, and to strengthening the resilience and security of our continent.
The tense geopolitical situation reminds us daily of the importance of unity and determination among democratic nations. Lithuania deeply appreciates Greece’s contribution to European and transatlantic solidarity and its support for Ukraine as it defends its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principles of the rules-based international order.
We also value Greece’s important role in promoting stability and security in the wider Mediterranean region, which contributes to the resilience of the European Union as a whole.
I am confident that through our close cooperation within the European Union and NATO, we will continue to strengthen the security and stability of Europe and contribute to lasting peace on our continent," the Prime Minister ssays in her message of greetings.
