Prime Minister sends greetings to Ireland on its national holiday
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has sent greetings to the people of Ireland on their national holiday, St. Patrick's Day.
"Lithuania highly values the close and friendly relations between our countries and the strong cooperation we share within the European Union and beyond. The Lithuanian community in Ireland and Irish nationals living and working in Lithuania continue to form an important bridge between our societies, enriching the cultural, economic, and social life of both nations.
As Ireland prepares to assume the presidency of the Council of the European Union, I wish you every success in this important responsibility. Lithuania looks forward to working closely with Ireland during its presidency to advance our shared European priorities and further strengthen our Union.
In the face of ongoing geopolitical challenges and continued threats to international security, unity among democratic nations remains essential. Lithuania greatly appreciates Ireland’s steadfast commitment to European solidarity and its support for Ukraine in defending its sovereignty, freedom, and the rules-based international order," says the Prime Minister in her message of greetings.
