Prime Minister sends greetings to Sweden on National Day
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas has sent message of greetings to Sweden celebrating its National Day.
‘This day is a meaningful reminder of Sweden’s enduring democratic traditions, strong institutions, and commitment to freedom – values that Lithuania shares and deeply respects. Our two nations are bound by a close and trusted partnership that continues to grow stronger through cooperation in the EU, NATO, and the wider Nordic-Baltic region.
At a time when Europe’s security is being tested, Sweden’s leadership and principled support for Ukraine have been crucial. Lithuania highly values your solidarity and continued efforts to uphold the sovereignty of Ukraine and the future of a free and peaceful Europe.
I am confident that Lithuania and Sweden will continue to work together to deepen our cooperation in security, energy, innovation, education, and cultural exchange. People-to-people ties between our societies also play a vital role in shaping a more resilient and united region,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
