Prime Minister sends greetings to Sweden on National Day

On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Lithuania, Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has sent greetings to the people of the Kingdom of Sweden on the occasion of Sweden’s National Day.

‘Lithuania highly values the close friendship and trusted partnership between our countries. Our cooperation is built on shared democratic values, strong people-to-people ties, and a common commitment to security, prosperity, and stability in the Baltic Sea region. Sweden remains one of Lithuania’s closest partners, and I am confident that our bilateral ties will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.

This important national celebration reflects the principles of freedom, democracy, and openness that unite our nations and guide our cooperation within the European Union, NATO, and the Nordic-Baltic community.

In today’s increasingly challenging security environment, close cooperation among Allies and partners is more important than ever. Lithuania highly values Sweden’s contribution to regional security and its steadfast support for Ukraine. Together, we remain committed to strengthening the security and resilience of our region and defending the principles of freedom, sovereignty, and international law,’ reads Prime Minister’s message of greetings.
