Prime Minister sends greetings to the Netherlands on King's Day
On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas is sending warm greetings to the Netherlands on the occasion of the national holiday, King's Day, along with the best wishes for every success, unity and prosperity to the people of the Netherlands.
“We in Lithuania deeply appreciate the steadfast contribution of Dutch troops to NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence battalion in Rukla. Your country’s visible and principled commitment to the defence of NATO’s eastern flank continues to be a strong expression of Allied solidarity. As we prepare for the NATO Summit in The Hague this June, I trust our cooperation will remain close and determined to secure further steps toward credible forward defence and lasting security in our region.
Looking ahead, Lithuania welcomes the further deepening of our bilateral cooperation – from defence and innovation to the green transition, energy resilience, and people-to-people ties. We also remain grateful for the cultural and educational bridges connecting our nations and inspiring mutual understanding.
In these challenging times, as Europe faces continued threats to its security and democratic values, the strength of our unity remains our greatest asset. Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine reminds us daily that peace, sovereignty, and freedom cannot be taken for granted. It is vital that our countries, together with our partners in the EU and NATO, stand firm in supporting Ukraine – politically, militarily, and economically – for as long as it takes,” reads Prime Minister’s letter.
