Prime Minister sends Independence Day greetings to Albania

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Acting Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is sending warm greetings to the people of Albania on Independence Day.

‘The strong relations between Lithuania and Albania, both bilaterally and as NATO allies, reflect our shared commitment to build a democratic and secure future for our both countries and their people. l am confident that ties between our countries will continue to strengthen for our mutual benefit. Although my duties as a Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania are coming to an end, l am confident that Lithuania will continue to strongly support Albania’s European integration. We commend the reforms Albania is implementing, particularly in the areas of justice and the rule of law. It is our shared interest to see our democratic partners fully integrated within the European Union - a family of nations united by shared values. As Russia continues it brutal war against Ukraine and hybrid aggression towards NATO Allies and beyond, our unwavering unity in supporting Ukraine until its victory is essential. At the Same time, strengthening sanctions against Russia, Belarus, and any other countries supporting Russia’s war of aggression remains paramount as We pursue sustainable peace and a strong Europe that is impervious to aggressors' blackmail. We deeply value your country's alignment with the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy and your support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations,’ reads Prime Minister’s letter.
